Health care
First Aid
Townsville Christian College has a dedicated sick back and full-time nurse. All academic and non-teaching staff where required hold current First Aid & CPR Certification.
Sun safety
Being sun safe is important for children to learn from a young age, especially here in Townsville. Being vigilant will encourage children to be sun smart on their own and is an important health matter to protect children against the negative effects of UV rays.
Townsville Christian College adopts a no hat, no play policy across all year levels. Students without the College hat will not be permitted to participate in outdoor activities.
The College also adopts a no shirt, no swim policy. Students will not be permitted to participate in swimming lessons without a swim shirt or swimmers with sleeves.
Counselling
Townsville Christian College aims to create a strong family bond by offering pastoral care, counselling and teaching Christian values to students and families. We encourage students to grow, feel confident and have a strong sense of self. We recognise the diversity of our school and support students and families of all backgrounds with an opportunity to make stronger connections and advance their Christian faith.
Our team of fully qualified pastors and counsellors work with students and their families to provide support and care for the wellbeing of all students. Counselling enables students to reach their full potential in mind, body and spirit.
The pastoral care team of the College is available to the whole school community, so if you would like to speak to someone, please send us an email to info@tsvcc.qld.edu.au or call us during office hours on (07) 4448 3111.
Chaplaincy
The Chaplaincy program provides valuable support for students, staff and the broader college community. Christian principles guide us and ensure that the college community feels supported and appreciated. The chaplaincy program operates 5 days a week to ensure that the needs of all college community stakeholders are met.
The Chaplain interacts with students through a variety of activities including:
- assemblies
- group activities through the lunch breaks
- reading and mentoring programs
- sporting activities
- student support activities
- devotions
